Hailey and Madi's Birthday Party

We celebrated Hailey and Madi's Birthday on Sunday. We had a fun party with great friends, food and a bounce house! Here is a video of the girls with their cupcakes. The frosting was a hit! Thanks to everyone that shared in this fun day, we are so lucky to have such wonderful friends! (Sorry that the video is a little long, but the Grandparents will appreciate it!)

Chefs in Training

Hailey and Madison got a kitchen for Christmas. They have been spending quite a bit of time in there cooking away. My Mom ("Gra") made them chef hats and aprons. They arrived yesterday afternoon and the girls had a great time trying them out while they cooked. They were so adorable in them I just couldn't resist taking a few pictures. Thanks Gra!

Chefs need time for snacks too!

"Just a second let me get off this chair!"

Hard at work

All great chefs wash their own dishes

One very proud chef

It tastes delicious!

Watch out, it looks like this chef can cause a lot of trouble!

Hailey likes to put her chef hat on by herself, the only problem is that if the velcro isn't in the right place it is a little big! Needless to say when she does it herself it ends up completely over her head. She had a great time navigating the house this way!

Never a Dull Moment

So, it has just been me and the girls this weekend. Dave left Friday afternoon to drive up to New Jersey for a review course for his board exam that is coming up at the end of the month. We were going about our usual lunch routine, I made the girls tortellini, chicken and peas. I was getting Madison's stuff cleaned up and waiting for Hailey to finish eating. While I was rinsing Madi's high chair tray off, Hailey said to me "Mommy, nose," and was rubbing at her nose. Both of the girls have been sick and had really snotty noses this weekend. I said to her "do you need to blow your nose?" She replied "yes." I grabbed a tissue and went over to her. As I squatted down to put the tissue to her nose I realized that there was a pea in her nose. I said "Hailey, you shouldn't put peas in your nose!" She said "yes Mommy." So I grabbed the pea and pulled it out. Laughing to myself as I went to throw it away. I texted Dave and told him that a crisis had been adverted, Hailey put a pea in her nose, but had just barely stuck it in and I was able to get out! By this point Hailey has finished lunch, I grab a wipe and go over to clean her up. As I am wiping her hands I think to myself, maybe I should make sure she doesn't have another pea farther up in her nose. As you can all probably guess, she indeed did, have a pea shoved rather far up in her nose! I could just barely see the bottom of it! I sent Dave a text back and said, just found another one up a lot higher! I am thinking to myself, I really need to get this pea out, I really don't want to have to go to the ER to have it done. It was up way too high for me to reach with my fingers or a pair of tweezers, Dave suggested that she blow her nose, but with her nose being so snotty I didn't know if she could blow hard enough, and even worse I didn't want her to sniff it up any farther. Then I remembered that Dave had surgical tweezers in a bag that had a long skinny nose to them. By this point Dave had called me to see if I had got it out yet. I told him what I was about to attempt, put the phone down, told Hailey that she had to hold really still and removed the pea!! Never a dull moment around here!!

Here is Hailey telling the story herself!!

Just For Fun

What a difference a year makes!!

Happy 1st Birthday Madison

Wow, it is so hard to believe that it has been a year since Sweet Madison entered this world. For the next 10 days I am officially the Mommy of TWO one year olds, that is also hard to believe. But what great joy both of them bring me! Madison you are such a blessing to all of us! Happy 1st Birthday! We love you so much!

"It's my party and I can cry if I want to..."

Enjoying a birthday cookie!

So yummy!

Sugar Coma!!

Hailey's First Haircut

Hailey was super excited for her first haircut! Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy!

The before, long and shaggy bangs.

Nothing like a lollipop and Mommy making funny faces
to keep her entertained.

Sitting nice and still

First blow dry.

The adorable finished product!
I was worried that we would lose all of her curls, but they stayed for now!

Hanging Out With Tori

Brett, Cinder and Tori came up and spent some time with us over Christmas. It was great to have them here. Hailey loved playing with Tori and wanted to do everything that Tori was doing. Tori was very patient with Hailey and did a great job keeping her entertained! Her are a few pictures of bath time together!

What do you think Tori is going to do with that cup of water??

Dump it over Hailey's head of course!
Hailey thinks that it is pretty funny when she gets water dumped on her.

Being silly!

All wrapped up!

A Future Doctor???

Hailey got a doctor's kit for Christmas, (thanks Felcyn's) and loves playing with it. It is so funny to watch her use each of the instruments appropriately and do check-ups on Madison. Watch closely, at the beginning of the video, Hailey is listening to Madi's heart. I looked over and saw her doing this and grabbed the video camera just in time. With a little prompting from me she completes Madi's exam, complete with a band aid. Notice, the band aid came with no prompting as did the throwing of the syringe from the shot!!

If You're Happy and You Know It

Hailey and Madison both love to do the motions to songs. "If you're happy and you know it" and the "Wheels on the bus" are a couple of their favorites. Here is a quick video of them; Madi wasn't cooperating with clapping, but you will get to see a little foot tapping from both and a hooray from Madi!
